Most preferring West UP for vehicle scrappage units

According to a report from the transport department, most vehicle scrappage units are being set up in Western Uttar Pradesh.

The report indicates that 15 registration certificates have already been issued for setting up these units, and an equal number of similar applications are being processed. The department began inviting applications for the registration of such centres more than a year ago.

Barring five or six, all other centres have been set up or are proposed to be set up in Western UP districts.

Out of the 15 registered scrapping centres, five have already become operational. These centres belong to Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Bharat Motors, MSTC India Recycling Pvt Ltd, Go Green ELV Handlers, and Global Ultratech, and all are located in Western UP.
