Inebriated Men Shoot Kebab Cook Dead in Bareilly, Flee in SUV, 2 held

Bareilly police have arrested two men in connection with the shooting of a 52-year-old cook outside a non-veg eatery.

According to officials, Mayan Rastogi alias Golden Baba and Tazim Shamsi were taken into custody from Rampur on Thursday evening. The incident occurred after the duo arrived at the shop in an inebriated state and complained about the quality of the kebabs.

When the cook was sent to collect payment from them, one of the men allegedly shot him in the temple. The assailants fled the scene towards Nainital road, but their SUV was traced to Kashipur based on pictures taken by staff members.

An FIR has been filed under IPC Section 302 for murder. The body of the victim was sent for post-mortem examination and police are continuing to investigate the case.
