CM Yogi Launches LDA Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar Schemes; 3,105 Plots Open for Registration
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday, 24 September 2026, launches the Lucknow Development Authority’s long-delayed Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar housing schemes, with online registration for 3,105 residential plots opening the same day. The programme is scheduled at Dona village in the Varun Vihar belt near the Agra Expressway, where the CM is also due to lay foundation stones for five multi-storey LDA apartment projects.
The launch closes a months-long wait after earlier dates slipped. An earlier Lucknow Social briefing had tracked a Ganesh Chaturthi-window plan; today’s event is the formal inauguration with confirmed plot counts, rates and a one-month application window.

Where the schemes sit
Varun Vihar is planned over nearly 6,580 acres along the Agra Expressway near Mohan Road. Phase 1 offers 1,926 plots split across Kailash Khand (1,218) and Kashi Khand (708). Naimish Nagar covers roughly 3,600 acres along IIM Road and Sitapur Road in Bakshi Ka Talab, with 1,179 Phase-1 plots in Brahma Khand (669) and Bhoomi Khand (510). Plot sizes across both schemes range from about 72 to 450 square metres.
Local reports describe the two townships as part of a much larger long-term housing footprint for the capital — with eventual plot capacity cited in the tens of thousands — while today’s registration is specifically for the first-phase release of 3,105 plots.
Prices, eligibility and how to apply
Amar Ujala and other city reports put land rates near ₹2,800 per sq ft in Varun Vihar and ₹3,800 per sq ft in Naimish Nagar, with a scheme booklet fee of about ₹1,100. Applicants should verify final category-wise prices, deposits and payment schedules on the official LDA portal and handbook before paying.
Magicbricks and earlier scheme briefs say applicants generally need to be Indian citizens aged 18 or above, with Aadhaar and PAN ready, and typically should not already hold an LDA-allotted house or plot in the city under restricted categories. Seats are described across EWS, LIG, MIG and HIG bands. Registration is online: create an account, choose scheme and plot size, pay the registration deposit (reports cite roughly 10% for general and 5% for reserved categories), and retain the slip for the computerised draw. Unsuccessful applicants are refunded the deposit, per the same reporting.
Why the launch was delayed
Both schemes were earlier lined up for around 30 June 2026, then postponed after the Aliganj illegal-building fire tragedy of 22 June. Later windows around mid- and late September also shifted until the CM’s 24 September schedule was locked in — just before Pitru Paksha, which local coverage flagged as a further calendar risk if the date had slipped again.
Five apartment projects on the same stage
Alongside the township launch, the CM is scheduled to lay foundation stones for five multi-storey LDA projects. Times of India lists Lake View Apartments in Viraj Khand, Gomti Nagar (646 3BHK-plus-study flats of about 2,300 sq ft, already allotted by lottery); Park View Apartments in Basant Kunj (364 units, roughly ₹75–95 lakh); and Aishbagh Square on Mill Road (384 flats around 1,900 sq ft, prices starting near ₹1.11 crore), among others in the package.
Why it matters
For Lucknow homebuyers, this is the first open registration window for two of LDA’s largest planned townships on the Agra Expressway and northern Sitapur/IIM corridors. Clear titles, lottery allotment and published rates matter as much as location — and applicants should treat portal documents, not secondary summaries, as the final word on eligibility and payments.
