Lulu Mall
On Amar Shaheed Path in Golf City, the big shed with the hypermarket and the weekend crowd is Lulu Mall. It is a shopping centre, not a nawabi monument. Abu Dhabi-based Lulu Group built it. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated it on 10 July 2022; shoppers filled it from the next day. You come to buy groceries, walk brands, eat, take children to Funtura, or catch a film. If you wanted Bara Imambara, you are on the wrong road.
History
Lulu Group’s own note of the opening described a 2,000-crore project on Amar Shaheed Path, Golf City, about 2.2 million square feet, with multi-level parking for more than 3,000 vehicles. Yusuffali M.A. led the group on the day. The flagship Lulu Hypermarket and the indoor family park Funtura were the named anchors. The same note listed Lulu Fashion Store, Lulu Connect, Uniqlo, Decathlon, Starbucks, Nykaa Luxe, Kalyan Jewellers, Costa Coffee and Chili’s among early brands, plus 15 restaurants and cafes and a food court of 25 outlets with seating for about 1,600. Wikipedia, citing opening-week papers, puts the campus in Sushant Golf City and records 11 July 2022 as the public opening. Use the Group’s figures for size and parking; use the gate for which shop is still there.
Golf City is the Ansal / Sushant Golf City pocket on the Shaheed Path, south-east of Gomti Nagar. Awadh Shilp Gram is further along the same highway family, an event crafts village, not a mall. Phoenix Palassio is the other large mall, in Gomti Nagar Extension, also on Amar Shaheed Path, opened two years earlier. Lucknow now treats both as ordinary Saturday places. That is the point. The city needed floors as well as imambaras.
What to do
Shop. The hypermarket is the weekday reason many families drive out. Decathlon and Uniqlo are the sports-and-basics pull. The food court and the restaurants handle the rest of the afternoon. Funtura is the indoor park for children; the mall’s own events page still pairs weekend games with it. Cinema is PVR Superplex on the second floor, listed on booking apps through August 2026 as PVR SUPERPLEX Lulu, Sushant Golf City, Shaheed Path. PVR’s own launch post called it an 11-screen hall. Book the show on the PVR app or District / BookMyShow. Do not trust a printed showtime from last year. Last shows can run after the shop floors have gone dark; that is why the mall lists a separate cinema clock.
This is not Food Valley. Food Valley is the LDA walking street on the Gomti riverfront in Gomti Nagar. Lulu’s food court is air-conditioning and trays. If you want the Ganj after dark, that is Hazratganj, a different trip back toward the centre. If you came only to walk under trees, turn to Janeshwar Mishra Park instead of circling the atrium.
Visiting
The mall’s own timings page, fetched 28 August 2026 from lucknow.lulumall.in, lists mall hours 10 am to 10 pm, hypermarket 9 am to 11 pm, food court 11 am to 11 pm, and cinemas 9 am to 2 am. Individual shops can open later and close earlier. Festival weeks shift clocks. Read that page, then read the door. There is no monument ticket. Parking is the multi-level; keep the stub. Autos and app cabs know Lulu, Golf City, Shaheed Path. There is no Metro station at the mall. The drive from the Ganj or from Gomti Nagar is the Shaheed Path run. Weekends and sale days fill the ramps. A weekday morning is easier for the hypermarket. Carry a bag. Carry patience at the parking barrier. The Onam and Independence-week atrium shows on the mall site are event listings, not a daily cultural programme. The mall has several atriums; weekend programmes sit in one of them and then come down. Do not treat an atrium show as a reason to skip the hypermarket clock.
Nearby
Phoenix Palassio is the Gomti Nagar Extension mall on the same Shaheed Path corridor. Awadh Shilp Gram is the crafts campus when a fair is on. Janeshwar Mishra Park is the large lawn if the children still have legs. Gomti Riverfront is not next door; it is the river in Gomti Nagar. For a full list see Lucknow places.
Come to shop and eat. Call it Lulu, Golf City. If you wanted Phoenix Palassio, say Palassio, Gomti Nagar Extension, or you will overshoot.
